The OACM future development plan and strategy is based on increasing the number of areas free of plastic and non-degradable waste, an idea which the UN has been working on as well for more than a decade. There is a natural synergy between these two organizations. We believe that OACM and the UN can unite more than 80 countries around the world and introduce the systematic protection and cleaning program by 2021 in order to become more efficient in dealing with the imminent threat posed by ocean pollution. The strategy and the effective systematic protection, preservation and cleaning program will be officially presented to the UN in 2018.
